Housing at TAU

As an international student, researcher, or visitor, finding the right housing is important. Tel Aviv University offers a variety of housing options on campus through our Broshim or Einstein dormitories.

Off-campus housing and guest accommodation options are also available.

All Lowy International School students, regardless of program, are eligible to live in TAU-provided housing, pending availability. Additionally, options may be available for international researchers and faculty.

  Requesting Housing

All BA, MA, exchange, and study abroad students may request housing in one of TAU’s dormitories on their confirmation form.

IMPORTANT: If you have been accepted into a PhD or MSc program, please contact us via this form for housing information.

Once you have confirmed enrolment and paid the confirmation fee, you will then be required to fill out and submit an online housing application form, which should be sent via email.

The housing department will then contact those fully confirmed students who have submitted the housing application form. Instructions and the payment deadline for securing the spot will be sent to the email address that you used to register in the Lowy International School student portal.

  Special Requests

Confirmed students have the opportunity to request a preferred dorm type, specific roommates or suitemates, as well as housing location preference.

Please note: While we do our best to accommodate requests, including for a specific type of apartment, there is no guarantee, even after submitting the housing application form. We will offer each student their highest priority choice pending availability.

  Securing Your Dormitory Accommodation

To secure your dormitory accommodation, a non-refundable down payment for the first month’s rent is required. If the non-refundable down payment is not paid by the designated deadline, your reserved spot in the dorms will be canceled. You can still register again for a waiting list, subject to availability.

In addition, students must sign the housing contract which includes the rules & regulations of the dorms.

  What to Bring with You

Please note that the following items are not supplied by TAU in any of the housing:

  • Pillows or blankets
  • Linens (sheets, pillowcases)
  • Towels
  • Kitchen utensils
  • Household goods (such as dishtowels, cleaning supplies, etc.)

See the packing list and pre-departure checklist for more information on what to bring with you or consult the pre-departure handbook sent to you with your admissions email, as this has extensive information on how to prepare for arrival.

TAU is not able to reimburse students for early withdrawal from TAU Housing, including the dorms.

See the refund policy for more information.
