Before You Apply: Masa Eligibility at a Glance
To receive a Masa scholarship through Tel Aviv University, you must meet three conditions:
- Take the intensive TAU Hebrew Ulpan. Participation in the Ulpan is required to receive the grant.
- Enroll in a program of at least five months, including the Ulpan.
- Provide travel documentation. The Lowy International School must hold your e-ticket and entry permit on file before any award can be credited to your account.
You must also meet Masa's own participant eligibility criteria. Check them on the Masa eligibility page before applying.

Masa Israel Journey
Masa Israel is a public-service organization co-founded by the Israeli Prime Minister's Office and The Jewish Agency for Israel. Beyond a participant's main program, Masa runs events for Jewish holidays, Shabbatons, and leadership and excellence tracks for qualifying participants. Jewish students studying abroad at TAU can take part in Masa alongside their studies and apply for a Masa scholarship.
Masa offers eligible participants a grant of $500–$4,500 toward their study-abroad experience in Israel, and connects them to a network of more than 110,000 alumni worldwide.

Masa Alumni Scholarship
Supported by Sofaer Global MBA, The Lowy International School, Tel Aviv University.
The Sofaer Global MBA is an intensive internationally accredited (AACSB) one-year program that combines academic excellence with immersive experiences focusing on Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Technology management at Tel Aviv University.
To be evaluated for this scholarship, you need to be a Masa Alumni (which means that you have taken and successfully finished one of the programs) and to be accepted to Sofaer Global MBA.

How much is the Masa grant?
Masa grants for study at Tel Aviv University range from $500 to $4,500. The amount depends on your program's length and cost and on Masa's own assessment. Masa determines the final award, not the university.
Who is eligible for a Masa scholarship?
Masa scholarships are for Jewish young adults studying abroad in Israel. To qualify through Tel Aviv University you must be accepted to a program of at least five months that includes the intensive Hebrew Ulpan, and you must meet Masa's participant eligibility criteria. Which Tel Aviv University programs are Masa-approved?
Most of TAU's long-term international programs qualify, because Masa funds programs of five months or longer that include the Hebrew Ulpan. Summer programs and short programs under five months are not eligible. To confirm whether a specific program qualifies, choose it on the Degree Navigator and contact the program coordinator.
Do I have to take the Hebrew Ulpan to receive Masa funding?
Yes. Participation in the intensive TAU Hebrew Ulpan is a requirement to receive the Masa scholarship.
What is the minimum program length?
Five months, including the Ulpan. Programs shorter than five months do not qualify for a Masa scholarship.
How do I apply for a Masa grant?
Complete the application on the Masa website. Masa emails you a PDF of the completed application; print it, sign it, and return it to the Lowy International School. The school confirms your acceptance to the program and forwards the application to The Jewish Agency.
