Pre-Departure Information
Student Pre-Departure Handbook
After acceptance to a TAUi International Program, you will receive a comprehensive handbook that covers everything from flights, visas, packing tips, arrival information, detailed housing information, campus resources, health and safety, student life, purchasing cell phones, tips for communication, food and living expenses, travel around Tel Aviv and Israel, and much more. Although the handbook is long, we encourage you to read this handbook very thoroughly in order to prepare for your time abroad. We also encourage you to print a copy and bring it with you to be used as a resource during your time in Tel Aviv. You can download sample handbooks below according to your program. Please keep in mind these are examples of past handbooks. The most updated version will be emailed to you once you are accepted and that is the version you should refer to when preparing for your time abroad.

Arrivals Web Site
In addition to the handbook, you can visit our TAU International Arrivals site which has information on your arrival week and includes information on:
- Getting to campus from the airport
- How to reach the TAUi on-site staff
- A detailed schedule for arrival day and orientation day
- Housing check-in information
- Hebrew Placement Exam information (for Fall and Spring Semester students)
- Comprehensive resources that will be useful to you upon arrival and during your first week, such as a Welcome Kit from the Student Life Team (Madrichim)
Housing Assignments
If living in TAU Housing, you will receive your housing location (address) in the weeks leading up to arrival. However, your specific roommate assignments will not be released prior to arrival. You will find out your exact apartment or dormitory number, and your roommate information, when you check in on arrival day. There are no exceptions to this. In addition, please keep in mind we do our best to accommodate mutual roommate requests, but we are never able to guarantee it.
