Student Life at TAU

Our team at the Lowy International School offers comprehensive support to ensure your swift integration into living and studying at TAU and a thoroughly enjoyable experience during your time in Israel.

Your life as a student at the Lowy International School will go beyond the classroom, with a full-on immersion into Israeli and campus life.

Who will be helping you along the way:

 Community Leaders

At TAU, you join a community that will support you throughout your journey with us and empower you to develop your initiatives.

Our community leaders are your first point of contact. You will meet them during student orientation upon arrival, where they will introduce you to life at Tel Aviv University.

Community leaders are available during standard business hours to provide guidance and answer any questions you might have regarding your stay in Tel Aviv.

They are also in charge of organizing extracurricular and cultural activities, such as:

  • Unique excursions to explore Tel Aviv and Israel’s wonders
  • Immersive experiences to get an authentic taste of life in Israel, including holiday parties and more
  • Volunteering opportunities supporting and contributing to Israeli communities.

What’s more, we encourage you to become active members of our community. Community leaders will provide you with the necessary tools and resources to start a club or implement other community-building ideas you come up with.

 Emergency Hotline +972-52-534-6188

In case of an emergency, you can contact our 24/7 hotline, available every day, including holidays and Saturdays.

If you require immediate assistance (need to call the police or an ambulance, for example), call the hotline to receive instructions on how to act.

The number is FOR CALLS only. It is not possible to message the hotline.

For practical information on how to act in various situations outside of emergencies, contact Community Leaders during regular office hours.

 Student Buddies

Through the Buddy System, you can be matched with an Israeli volunteer student who will be your buddy. They will connect with you before you even arrive in Israel, ready to answer any questions you might have about student life on campus or living in Israel.

During your time in Israel, you'll have plenty of opportunities to meet and connect with your buddy, helping you gain a better understanding and feel for the country.

 Student Wellbeing Coordinator

The transition to academic studies brings opportunities for personal growth and development, but also requires adaptation to a new educational and social environment. High academic demands, long study hours, and the need to balance studies with other aspects of life create challenges and dilemmas that accompany student life.

The Student Wellbeing Coordinator is there to support you in navigating these dilemmas and difficulties.

 Housing Coordinator

The Housing Coordinator is there to help you with all dorm-related questions.

The coordinator and her team will assist you in checking in and out of the dorms and will provide all the necessary information regarding dorm rules and regulations.

The Jewish Learning Initiative on Campus Rabbinic Couple

Whether you are Jewish or not, Eitan and Elana Philips are happy to welcome you to their home right next to the TAU campus for large holiday events or smaller gatherings, where you can learn more about Jewish traditions and discuss topical issues.

If you're observant, you can join group study sessions or have one-on-one meetings with Rabbi Eitan or Elana.
