If you would like to get in touch with your future roommate(s), please contact us at housing@tauex.tau.ac.il.
We must obtain approval from both parties before sharing contact information, in accordance with university policy. If all roommates agree, we will be happy to put you in touch.
Checking In & Moving Out
As your arrival date approaches, you will receive detailed instructions outlining where to go and what to do upon arrival.
In general, new residents of the Einstein Dorms can find our team in the study room in Building F on larger arrival days.
New residents of the Broshim Dorms can find us at the Green House, located at 24 George Wise Street next to the dormitories, or in the study room in Building B on larger arrival days. Simply let the security guard know that you are a new resident, and they will assist you with entry.
Check in takes place between 09:00 and 17:00. During this time, you will receive your apartment keys and be asked to issue a FOB at the dormitory offices.
Once that is done, you are all set to unpack, settle in, and start exploring your new home.
The first thing you should do if you see you aren’t going to be arriving on your scheduled arrival day, or outside the aforementioned hours, is to update us directly through email.
Let us know when you’ll be arriving so we can make the necessary arrangements, if you aren’t able to arrive during working hours you can ask for your key to be placed with the dorm security guard in order for you retrieve it when you are able.
Yes. Please make sure to inform us in advance of your expected arrival date.
Kindly note that housing charges are calculated according to the dates stated in your contract, regardless of your actual move in date.
Toward the end of your contract, you will be required to schedule and complete a check-out with the housing team. Attendance at the check-out is mandatory.
The dorm room must be returned empty, clean, and in good condition. Any damage caused by the resident may result in fines.
Security & Safety
Both dorm campuses are highly secure, with guards at the entrance monitoring who enters and exits.
For this reason, all residents are required to enter the dorms using their personal FOB.
In the event of sirens, the dorms are equipped with designated secure spaces (mamaks/mamads) to ensure students’ safety.
- Broshim Dorms have a secure apartment (starting with 01) on every floor. Secured apartments in building K: 121, 220, 321, 420, 521, 620, 718, and 814.
- Einstein Dorms have a large underground shelter in front of building B
We recommend downloading the Home Front Command app, which sends location-specific alerts in English. You will never be left on your own.
Please follow Home Front Command’s most up-to-date instructions on how to respond to sirens. When a siren is heard, make your way directly to a secure area. Typically, in Tel Aviv and at Tel Aviv University, you will have 1.5 minutes to make your way to a protected area. Depending on the circumstances, instructions can change, including for different levels of shelter protection that are required.
Once you are in a protected area, please remain there until you receive an update from Home Front Command via their website or app.
Check the full list of shelters at Tel Aviv University.
Shabbat Considerations
The Broshim dorms have a shabbat elevator.
During shabbat, the dorm guards can manually open the gate so that you don't need to use your FOB.
We do our best to match students who keep kosher with like-minded roommates, though this cannot be guaranteed in advance.
After You Arrive at Tel Aviv University
Twice a year, usually after you have had a few weeks to settle in and again during the second semester, you will be asked to schedule an inspection with our team.
This only takes a few minutes and is done to ensure your wellbeing and the state of your dorm.
If you happen to lose your key or FOB, you will have to pay for a replacement. Let us know at housing@tauex.tau.ac.il and we will provide you with the relevant information.
Please make sure to inform us as soon as possible, as dorm entry without a FOB is prohibited.
To bring a guest inside the dorms, you must fill out a form with the security guard and make sure your guest has some form of I.D.
If your guest arrives after 10pm, or you would like to have them stay the night, please note this can only be done for one person at a time, as you cannot have more than one overnight guest 2 times a week.
If you plan on having someone stay with you for more than two nights, you must get prior permission from the dormitory management (through email). Make sure to do this as long in advance as possible.
Living in a shared community with neighbors from diverse backgrounds can sometimes be challenging. This is completely normal, and there are dedicated staff members on campus, including Security and the Night Guard, who are available to assist you if needed.
After you arrive, you will receive all the relevant contact information and clear guidance on where to turn for support. We kindly ask all residents to be respectful, considerate, and mindful of their surroundings so that everyone can enjoy a comfortable and welcoming living environment.
Yes, of course. As long as these dates are included in your contract’s time period.
Yes, between 23:00 and 7:00 (11PM to 7AM) it is strictly forbidden to make unreasonable noise in accordance with Tel-Aviv’s municipal laws. Complaints about unreasonable noise being made on the premises can be forwarded to security during the quiet hours.
Maintenance & Facilities
Yes, students are responsible for maintaining cleanliness in their personal rooms and, in the case of shared apartments, in all shared spaces as well. This responsibility applies throughout the stay and is especially important prior to check out.
Keeping the apartment clean will help ensure a smoother check out process and may prevent additional cleaning charges.
If you have any maintenance issues in your dorms, please open a request through this maitenance request form.
If you believe you aren’t receiving proper treatment, you’re always welcome to talk to us and we’ll see what we can do on our end.
Yes. The network WIFI information sheet is given inside your key envelope.
Both the Broshim and Einstein dormitory complexes have designated laundry rooms equipped with paid washing machines and dryers. Payment can be made in cash (shekels) or by card. The machines are operated by an independent company.
You may bring your own laundry detergent or use machines that include detergent. Additional details will be shared during orientation.
No, the dormitories complex do not have any storage space for tenants to be able to use, however in the case a student requires a hold of less than a day for luggage, they are able to do so at The Green House.
As there is no personal mailroom in the dormitories, we generally recommend sending packages to the Lowy International School offices at the following address:
The Green House – Lowy International School
Dr. George Wise St. 24
Tel Aviv
Postal Number: 6997801
Please note that you are responsible for collecting your packages, as there is no internal delivery or mailing service available.
