SASI Scholarship for Southern Africans Studying in Israel
SASI (Southern Africans Studying in Israel) is a scholarship programme, based on financial need, for Southern African international students who wish to study in Israel in English and/or Hebrew.
SASI students are welcome to participate in a social volunteering programme that affords them a unique opportunity to experience Israel and give back to Israeli society. With a dedicated SASI coordinator and a team of staff available to provide professional advice and a supportive network, Telfed becomes a home away from home.
WHO CAN APPLY?
- Southern African citizens of Jewish lineage according to the ‘Law of Return’, with a recognised matric and university pass certificate.
- The SASI scholarship is based on financial need.
- It is not compulsory to make Aliyah to participate in the SASI programme.
SOCIAL & VOLUNTEERING PROGRAMME REQUIREMENTS:
- 30 hours of community volunteering.
- 2 days of social volunteering events.
- Shabbat get-together once a year.
- Attending Telfed’s annual scholarship ceremony
SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT:
- Annual scholarship of NIS 7,000 for the academic year, plus a modest cultural and travel stipend.

Students from the Middle East and North Africa
After the ground-breaking Abraham Accords, Tel Aviv University is happy to invite students from the Middle East and North Africa to study in Tel Aviv.
This merit-based scholarship, covering up to 50% of tuition fees (and up to a maximum of $8000), is offered to applicants coming from UAE, Bahrain, Morocco, Egypt, Jordan, or the Palestinian Authority.
To be considered, applicants must:
- Demonstrate academic excellence by presenting transcripts from previous academic institutions.
- Be accepted or confirmed to their program of choice at TAU.
- Degree students - Submit the scholarship application by July 30, 2025
- Study abroad/summer programs- submit the scholarship application by May 15, 2025.
Important: One of the conditions for receiving a scholarship for full-degree students is participating in the Lowy Student Ambassador Club and completing the assignments fully.
Tel Aviv University International Turkish Scholarship Fund
This merit-based scholarship, covering up to 50% of tuition fees (up to a maximum of $8000), is offered to applicants from Turkey.
To be considered, applicants must:
- Demonstrate academic excellence by presenting transcripts from previous Academic institutions.
- Be accepted or confirmed to their program of choice at TAU.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Scholarships for Foreign Students
The Government of Israel is pleased to offer scholarships for summer language courses and academic-year courses to foreign BA or BSc degree students from the following countries: Albania, Argentina, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada (Quebec Province), China, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France.
