About the fund:

The LMU-TAU Research Cooperation Program is intended to support and promote various types of joint research projects carried out by TAU and LMU research groups. The fund is open to applications from all research areas.

NTU-TAU Joint Seed Funding

About the fund:

Under the framework of their strategic partnership, National Taiwan University (NTU) and Tel Aviv University have set up the NTU-TAU Joint Seed Funding program. This initiative aims to promote sustainable long-term partnership projects and facilitate bilateral international collaboration activities. The fund is open to applications from all research areas.

Funding amount: $20,000

 

Key dates:

Application period: Monday September 11TH- Thursday November 16, 2023

Result notification: Mid December

Funding period: January to December 2024

Final report due: March 31, 2025

Emory University Halle Institute for Global Research & Tel Aviv University

About the fund:

Emory University Halle Institute for Global Research and Tel Aviv University have partnered to create a new multi-year Collaborative Research Grant. Project timelines may not exceed 24 months from the receipt of funding. The fund is open to applications from all research areas.

The University of Manchester and Tel Aviv University Joint Research Seed Fund

About the fund:

The primary objective of the University of Manchester and Tel Aviv University Joint Research Seed Fund is to encourage the establishment of new collaborations that possess the capacity to secure external funding for the continuation of their research endeavors. The fund is open to applications from all research areas.

Funding amount: 5k GBP from Manchester and 21,500 NIS from TAU for each proposal.

Max Planck Israel Programme: Opportunity for Tel Aviv University PhDs and Postdocs

 

The Max Planck Israel Programme is designed to provide support to Israeli science, with a particular focus on doctoral students and postdocs, in light of the challenges following the events of 7 October 2023.

This program presents an invaluable opportunity for Tel Aviv University PhDs and postdocs to engage in collaborative research, contribute to international scientific advancements, and strengthen ties between our institutions.

 

Program Overview: Initiated with an initial funding of 1 million euros, primarily from the Max Planck Foundation, the Max Planck Israel Programme is set to run for two years, from 2024 to 2025.

Application Requirements: To apply for this unique opportunity, interested candidates are required to submit the following documents:

  1. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  2. Invitation Letter from the host Max Planck Institute
  3. Recommendation Letter from the supervisor at Tel Aviv University

Program Features:

  • Partnerships will be established between Principal Investigators (PIs) at Tel Aviv University and Max Planck Institutes.
  • Tel Aviv University doctoral students and postdocs will have the opportunity to temporarily continue their research in partner groups at Max Planck Institutes.
  • Project supervision will remain with Tel Aviv University colleagues, ensuring a seamless collaboration.

Additional Benefits: The program offers reimbursements for additional costs, including but not limited to travel expenses, double rent, etc.

Duration of Stay: The duration of the research stay can be up to three months.

Implementation Details:

  • Up to 1 million euros will be made available initially for the Max Planck Israel Programme from the funds of the Max Planck Foundation.
  • The program is limited to two years.
  • Selection of scientists will be carried out by the two PIs forming an informal partnership.
  • PIs at the participating Max Planck Institutes can request funds from the program on a case-by-case basis, as needed.

 

Please note that there is an expectation that the scholarship will continue to be paid by the home institution for the duration of the stay at Max Planck.

Please note that all selected participants are obligated to secure health insurance prior to leaving for Max Planck.
