Parents: Your Introduction to Tel Aviv International

We’re thrilled that your son or daughter is considering a program at Tel Aviv International. Choosing a program abroad – be it for a full degree, a semester, a language or a summer program – is a complex process, and our staff is always available to answer your questions and respond to your concerns. We invite you to explore our website to learn all about our program offerings, but here is a bit of information to get you started.

Academics at TAU

Tel Aviv University (TAU) is consistently ranked among the world’s top universities. We are known around the world for being leaders in cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research that feeds directly into the classroom. Students benefit from small class sizes, and courses are taught by experienced professors who are passionate about inspiring the next generation of professionals, scholars, and leaders.

Courses and programs taught in English are offered across TAU’s nine faculties, in subjects such as international relations, business and economics, engineering, computer science, liberal arts, Middle Eastern and Jewish studies, social sciences, fine arts, and much more. We also offer intensive language training in Hebrew, Arabic, and Yiddish.

Safety, Security, and Wellbeing

The safety of all of our students is our top priority. The TAU campus is very secure, and crime in Tel Aviv is low. To ensure your student’s safety, security is present 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on the TAU campus and in all student dormitories. We also require all international students to have mobile phones so that we can easily reach them with security updates, if ever necessary.

The overall wellbeing of your child is also important to us, as we understand the challenges of being far away from home, perhaps for the first time. Live-in counselors called madrichim live in all student dormitories and offer support and guidance for residents. Additionally, the friendly TAU International staff are and are always available to meet with students to address concerns, offer support, or just to talk.

Career Prospects

Where can studies at TAU take your daughter or son? As far as either of you can imagine! The Tel Aviv area is a global hub for technology startups – Tel Aviv was recently ranked as the world’s second most innovative city. Our faculty and staff cultivate relationships with new and established companies in the region to offer networking, internships, and even part-time jobs during the semester.

Israel is also a world leader in fields like security studies, negotiation and diplomatic relations, and crisis management. Our programs offer integrated components with local companies and organizations to give students a head-start into careers in these and other fields.

Finally, there is, of course, no better place for students interested in Middle Eastern or Jewish studies than Israel. Experiencing their subject matter in a hands-on way gives students with interests in these fields a leg-up into future careers.
