Health Insurance for Research Students (MSc, PhD, Postdoc)
In general, research students (MSc, PhD, and Post-docs) are not provided health insurance by The Lowy International School or Tel Aviv University.
Students are required to purchase insurance independently for the entire duration of their stay in Israel.
As of May 2026, TAU started a pilot with the Israeli National Insurance Institute (Bituach Leumi) for PhD and Postdoc students, who now have an opportunity to gain access to Israel’s public healthcare system.
