About TAKA

TAKA is a full-time, intensive Hebrew Ulpan offered each spring (March–July). The program is designed for learners who wish to develop a high level of Hebrew proficiency, particularly those preparing for academic studies in Hebrew at Israeli institutions of higher education. While many participants are new immigrants (olim), the program is also open to other eligible applicants.

The program includes approximately five hours of Hebrew instruction each day and combines intensive language study with courses that support academic success in Israel. Students receive academic advising and may take additional courses in areas such as Academic Writing, Israeli Society, and International Relations. The program also prepares students for the YAEL Hebrew proficiency exam and the AMIRAM English placement test, when required.

TAKA Program Schedule

TAKA is a full-time program held Sunday through Thursday. The regular daily schedule is 8:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. On two days each week, classes continue for approximately two additional hours to accommodate academic enrichment, English language instruction, or other program components.

The detailed weekly schedule is provided to admitted students before the program begins and may vary according to Hebrew level, class placement, and course offerings.
