Are you ready to consider studying for a Hebrew-taught undergraduate or graduate degree? TAKA, an intensive Hebrew program at Tel Aviv University (TAU), will be your perfect starting point to bridge the gap between intermediate language proficiency and academic mastery, setting you up for success in Israeli universities.

TAU’s TAKA, one of the top Hebrew courses in Israel, is offered once a year and takes a little over four months to complete, which allows the students to enroll in Hebrew degree programs in the fall. The new cohort is starting on April 3, 2025, so you still have time to apply. The program welcomes high school and BA graduates, as well as holders of graduate degrees wishing to do their PhD research in Israel.

During the program, you will have the opportunity to take the Yael exam of Hebrew proficiency and Amir English proficiency exam, both essential for undergraduate admissions in Israel. Additionally, you can choose from electives focused on Israeli literature, news, and media, to better understand Israeli culture and society.

Last but not least, TAKA includes trips, cultural experiences, and community-building events that make learning enjoyable and fun, even though the program is quite intensive, with multiple classes held five days a week.

The program is designed for students at different Hebrew proficiency levels, starting from Gimmel (intermediate) and advancing to Vav, the highest level. To enroll in TAKA, it’s necessary to take a placement exam to ensure your language level will allow you to study successfully.
