My research aims at extracting novel phenomena and practical benefits from fundamental properties of the free electron, and in particular, combining the nanometer precision that electron beams can reach with their quantum nature, either through entanglement, their wavefunction, or the energy they transfer to other excitations, such as photons.
We are looking for useful interactions between electrons and matter (polaritons, phonons, plasmons, light) and try to read information from them, but also to control them with the electron beam.
Since my research are done in an electron microscope, whatever we manage to use the electrons for, we'll be able to do at high resolutions.

Once admitted to my group, we will find a project that fits the applicant aims and skills.
They will learn how to work with electron beams, guided by current group members, and build his setup.
The final instrument may be lasers, scanning electron microscope (SEM) or transmission electron microscope (TEM)
Required skills:
Knowledge in optics (lasers, microscopy), electron microscopy, quantum optics, quantum physics, electromagnetism, or engineering.
Application deadline: October 1, 2024
