Dr. Gili Bisker
Engineering
We develop optical nanosensors based on single-walled carbon nanotubes and bio-inspired nanostructures.
Moreover, we use the theoretical tools of stochastic thermodynamics to study the physics of living systems.

We have 2 positions available:
Experimental PhD position: the candidate will work in our optics lab on advanced imaging and spectroscopy in the near-infrared and in our wet lab on functionalization and characterization of nanomaterials. We use fluorescent single-walled carbon nanotubes as structural additives and optical probes for bio-nano-assemblies.
Theoretical PhD position: We develop estimators for the deviation from equilibrium and entropy production in complex systems using nonequilibrium physics and stochastic thermodynamics.
