These two-year M.Sc. programs provide you with a range of tracks from four different departments, with our ground-breaking research labs discovering the latest trends and finds in many biological disciplines. And while you uncover the future, don’t forget to explore the many fascinating facets of the Non-Stop City of Tel Aviv, right on your doorstep…
Program Overview
The George S. Wise Faculty of Life Sciences is the oldest faculty at Tel Aviv University. Previously it was known as the University Institute of Natural Sciences and focused on traditional biological disciplines such as botany and zoology.
Today however, new scientific developments and cutting-edge technologies have transformed these disciplines and created compelling new disciplines, such as nanotechnology and bioinformatics. With an ever-expanding world to discover, the Faculty now houses 90+ research labs across a wide range of biological disciplines.
Thanks to our ever-developing world - with rapid developments in biological science and the use of cutting edge technologies - a broad and inclusive approach to solving fundamental challenges in life sciences is needed. This requires interdisciplinary knowledge and the use of a range of technologies, meaning graduates must have interdisciplinary training that is not necessarily focused on the specific field of their research.
Choose from three English-language MSc degree tracks - Biochemistry, Ecology and Environmental Studies, and Genetics - in our four departments:
-
The School of Zoology offers a range of fascinating fields, including ecology, nature conservation, marine biology, environmental physiology, neurobiology, animal behavior (ethology), phylogenetic, taxonomy, and evolution.
-
The School of Plant Sciences and Food Security is one of the biggest and diverse institutes for Plant Sciences in Israel and offers a variety of courses and possibilities for research in Plant Sciences and Food Security.
-
The School of Neurobiology, Biochemistry & Biophysics focuses on investigating the molecular basis of biological processes in cell systems or organisms.
-
The School of Molecular Cell Biology & Biotechnology focuses on the cutting-edge world of cell biology and biotechnology.
