Program Overview

These Excavation programs are for those of you looking for incredible off-campus opportunities discovering Israel’s ancient history. 

Enjoy a unique encounter with history by getting hands-on with one of the programs below - the programs are not operated directly by TAU International but are affiliated with and accredited by TAU.

  • Ashdod Yam project: This summer dig is an inter- and multi-disciplinary project, and welcomes participants with diverse research interests and perspectives. Expect to take on all types of archaeological activities.

  • Tel Shimron excavation: This project aims to provide incredible insights into the history of the last 5000 years, and also includes daily excavation work, lectures and workshops, and two academic courses with credits.

  • Shmunis Family Foundation excavation: This summer project will have you digging deep into the ancient Judean highlands, and also includes two academic courses with credits.
