The Fox International Fellowship scholarship is for excellent students and researchers who are passionate about connecting with renowned faculty and leaving a global impact through scholarly exchanges and collaboration.

As with every year, Yale and Tel Aviv University embark on their mutual academic commitment through the Fox International Fellowship Program. TAU graduate students can participate in this one-of-a-kind exchange program between Yale and 20 partner universities within the Fox network.

For those that become fellows, doors unlike anywhere else open up. By having access to unique Yale workshops, classes, and events, life-changing connections can be cultivated through the Fellowship. This is an opportunity you shouldn’t skip out on - make sure to apply as soon as possible and begin your journey to become a true thought leader today.

A Bit of Context

To become a part of the program, one must meet the qualifications that the Fellowship sets out, as the main expectation holds a long-standing track record as a “citizen scholar ambassador”. This means your academic and extracurricular record must not only stand up to Yale’s criteria but also fit in line with the common goal of contributing towards a better world.

The goal of the fellowship is to serve as an academic bond between nations through global-civic discourse, cultivating spaces and conversations for leaders on a wide-reaching, cross-cultural scale. Due to this, the Fox International Fellowship is awarded on account of both the research proposal and the personal leadership qualities of the candidate.

Graduate students must submit research proposals that will be pursued independently for an academic year at Yale. Such research proposals can include dissertations, continuations of projects you’ve always wanted to get to, or anything that may come to mind that has the capacity to impact the world.

Testimonials

Yafit Shachar, Fox International Fellow

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience studies and research at an elite university, meet exceptional researchers, make connections, and be exposed to groundbreaking research that will impact the world of tomorrow.

This experience contributes a lot to me as a person. It allows me to be an active part of a diverse academic environment that is focused on research, broadening horizons, changing perspectives, and meeting fascinating and inspiring women and men every day.

From a research point of view, Yale's resources contribute greatly to my doctoral research and the pace of its progress; I work with a supervisor on the topic I am focusing on, and present my research to other academics from around the world through the many platforms the university has to offer. The Fox Fellowship is an enriching experience like no other. Do not hesitate to apply.

Jamila Elnashef, 2018-2019 Fox International Fellow

"The Fox program at Yale University is not a standard student exchange program, but a mentoring program that enables the pedagogical and personal development of academics.

During this program I was exposed to a variety of projects managed by the professor in charge, Prof. Ben Kashur, in which he mentored program participants in our various research and methodology and held important pedagogical dialogue with us throughout the program. In addition, as part of Fox's program, Prof. Kashur promoted a number of seminars and lectures by guest lecturers who sought to empower the construction of our academic habitus, with the goal of exposing us to American Academic culture, particularly in the Ivy League. Furthermore, I participated in several workshops held as part of the Fox program and within Yale University in general, which sought to provide direct training for the development of writing and presenting skills of research, improvement of academic language, correct use of body language and content delivery. These workshops helped me hone critical thinking, scientific writing of research proposals, resumes, various official letters, and articles.

During the fewlloship, I took part in a number of seminars in the faculties of philosophy, sociology, history and management and was able to make connections with leading researchers in various fields of interest. Making connections and building academic dialogue with Yale professors and with professors from other institutions such as Harvard and MIT helped me refine and focus my research as well as providing different perspectives for future research concepts."
