The MA TESOL’s multidisciplinary curriculum tackles a range of domains of English teaching and research, including practical components that provide the perfect combination of theory and practice with real-time hands-on teaching in the Israeli education system. Practical teaching placements are offered in elementary, junior high and high schools, as well as opportunities in higher education and with refugee populations.

Program Highlights

  • You don’t have to be a fully-fledged teacher - this International M.A. is also open to students with no background in English language teaching.

  • Your internship includes opportunities for hands-on teaching in the Israeli educational system, including higher education and refugee programs.

  • Enjoy cultural evening activities and overnight excursions around the country, in addition to the coursework. Study in Israel, a country renowned for its leadership and innovative approaches to disaster management.

  • An optional 1-year thesis track is available.

Career Success Opportunities

Our TESOL graduates have gone on to a variety of language teaching positions - in private and public educational contexts, in schools and universities – whether in Israel, their home countries, or around the globe. Some have even opened their own programs - such as an English-speaking nursery school in Israel – while others are working as English language coaches in the business sector, in educational publishing, and in language testing and consulting. Others have continued on to PhD programs in prestigious universities around the world.
*Please note that you will need teaching certification to teach in public schools. Requirements vary (for example, in the USA, requirements may vary from state to state). In Israel, a graduate of the TESOL program is expected to obtain a teaching certification through the Ministry of Education; some of the course requirements will be fulfilled by the TESOL program.
