The Music School’s mission is to train outstanding young musicians and music researches and prepare them for a professional career, as solo and chamber music performers, composers, conductors and music scholars.
Program Overview
The Buchmann-Mehta School of Music was founded in 2005 as a unique partnership between Tel-Aviv University (TAU) and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (IPO). Its establishment was made possible through the generosity of philanthropist Josef Buchmann, the School’s patron. Maestro Zubin Mehta, the esteemed former IPO Music Director, serves a BMSM’s Honorary President.
The BMSM Orchestral Training Program is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of orchestral musicians for the IPO and other leading orchestras in Israel and worldwide.
