 Environmental Studies Master’s Program Overview

The newly introduced Master’s in Environmental Studies at Tel Aviv University is a one-year, English-taught program designed for students seeking careers in sustainability, environmental policy, and climate change. This interdisciplinary degree is ideal for those looking to pursue a master’s in sustainability or environmental studies abroad, combining academic depth with real-world application.

Jointly managed by the New Environmental School and the School of Social and Policy Studies, the program delivers a multidisciplinary perspective at the intersection of environmental science, sustainability policy, and environmental governance. Based on Tel Aviv University’s green campus and embedded in Israel’s dynamic innovation ecosystem, it bridges research, policy, and practice in a region at the forefront of global environmental change.

Located in Tel Aviv, at the crossroads of Europe, Asia, and Africa, the program offers a unique regional lens on environmental challenges and solutions, with insights from Israel and the broader Middle East.

The curriculum provides a rigorous foundation in sustainability science, global environmental change, environmental management, climate change, environmental economics, biodiversity, and environmental policy, while integrating the legal, political, and behavioral dimensions of environmental decision-making.

Explore the key drivers of global environmental change, including the climate crisis, pollution, and ecosystem degradation, and develop the governance frameworks and strategic tools needed to design scalable solutions.
