Dormitory Facilities

The student dormitories are all conveniently located within walking distance from the Tel Aviv University campus. Dormitories are divided into suites of one or two bedrooms shared by two students per bedroom. Each suite is furnished and includes a kitchenette and bathroom. All of our long term students (semester/year) are housed in our newly renovated Einstein dorms. Each room has a new kitchen and bathroom, air conditioning and wifi. Due to the fact that the dorms are very new, they are inspected upon move-in and any damage done during students’ stay will have to be covered by the students.

Please note that the following items are not supplied by the University: blankets, pillows, towels, kitchen utensils and household goods.

Students may bring their own linens and electrical appliances or choose to buy from an Israeli company that provides these supplies, such as 4-Less. 4-Less can be reached online at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The following quantities of linens are usually sufficient: two blankets, two to four sheets, two pillowcases, one pillow and four towels. Please note that beds in the dorms are slightly longer and narrower than American twin beds.

Students who wish to room with a friend may indicate this on their Confirmation Form.

A self-service laundromat is located directly across from the dorm complex. Additional laundry and cleaning facilities are available in nearby shopping centers.

Off Campus Living

Some international students choose to live in nearby off-campus apartments. Sharing a standard apartment with one or two roommates may cost the same as the dorms. However, a place in the dorms will be reserved for you unless you specify otherwise prior to the payment deadline as set by the Office of Academic Affairs. TAU is not able to refund students for early withdrawal from the dorms (see Refund Schedule in our Billing Terms).
