The academic program is preceded by a mandatory intensive Hebrew language course, called Ulpan, to prepare students for life in Israel. Students who are considered advanced (usually Level 8 and above) will be exempt from the Ulpan requirement; please check with your TAU Study Abroad Coordinator for details (requires a Placement Exam for proof of exemption).
Students are then required to take the three core courses which are a mandatory part of the Business and Entrepreneurship program. The required courses for this program can be found here. In addition to the internship experience and taking the 3 required Business courses, internship students are also required to enroll in a mandatory academic course designed to enhance your internship learning experience. The workshop-style course will focus on developing your career goals and refining your professional skills and will deal with issues such as cultural differences in the workplace, interpersonal problem solving, project management, interviewing, career development and much more. Click here to see a sample syllabus of the mandatory academic internship course. The most current syllabus can be found on our Study Abroad Courses page.
Students may also choose to take an extra elective course from our study abroad course offerings for no additional tuition fees (not mandatory). The following are recommended elective courses which complement the above courses from TAU study abroad course offerings. Syllabi for these and other possible electives are found on the study abroad courses page.
· Business Ethics - Dr. S. Smila-Sened
· The Israeli Economy - Dr. P. Rivlin
Spring Semester students will get acquainted with their positions while studying during the Ulpan and the spring semester and will officially be full time interns for seven weeks during the summer. In total, students are expected to intern approximately 200 hours over the course of the semester and summer. For more information on the internship placement process and FAQ’s regarding the internship, please visit the main internship program page.
Please reference the TAU International Internship Agreement, which all students are required to read and sign prior to the placement process, for more detailed information on internships.
