Ancient Israel Studies
Program Length: 1 year, with an additional Thesis Year option.
Language of instruction: English
- Students must have a GPA above 3 or 80%.
- Students who are not native English speakers and who have not completed their undergraduate studies in English at an English speaking country will be required to submit TOEFL or IELTS scores.
Minimal IELTS requirements: Overall band score of 7.0.
Minimal TOEFL requirements: Paper based test – 573, computer based test – 230, internet based test – 79.

The International M.A. in Ancient Israel Studies program offers the academic knowledge and practical fieldwork experience in the most exciting excavation locations in the world.
As a student in this program, you will study with world-renowned archaeological scholars, while you gain academic knowledge, practical experience, and ancient language skills.
Each of our excavations is led by our faculty, where you are working with up-to-date, modern, scientific tools in the area's archaeological and historical studies.
Geographic location - Participate in some of the world's most popular excavations in Masada, Jerusalem's City of David, Megiddo and more.
Scholars in the field - Study with world-renowned archaeological scholars who will give you the academic knowledge, practical experience, and skills
Off-campus field-trips - Visit the archaeological sites and excavations you will be studying about in class for an outdoor experience.

Coming from a variety of backgrounds, our alumni often choose to stay in the field of Archaeology, carving out successful and satisfying careers at research institutions and organizations both in Israel and abroad such as: The Israel Antiquities Authority, the Nature and Parks Authority, the Society for the Protection of Nature, the Israel Existing Foundation (KKL)*. Additional roles include:
Consultation for cultural resource and heritage firms
Teaching and management roles
