Housing information is typically sent out several weeks before the start of the program.

TAU Housing Placement

Welcome to the TAU community! If living in TAU Housing, you will receive your housing location (address) 2-3 days leading up to arrival. However, your specific apartment/dormitory number and roommate assignments will not be released prior to arrival. You will receive this when you check-in. There are no exceptions to this. In addition, while we do our best to accommodate mutual roommate requests we are never able to guarantee it.

If you are placed in the TAU Apartments, the exact location and details of these will be in your placement email sent a few weeks prior to arrival.

Getting To/From TAU Housing from Ben Gurion Airport

We recommend downloading the Moovit app prior to arriving in Tel Aviv as it will give you real-time instructions on how to reach your destination once you are here.

Arriving by Train

For Einstein and Broshim Dorms, your destination station is the 'Tel Aviv University Station'. The train ride is approximately 30-40 minutes from the airport. For TAU Apartments, your destination station is ‘Tel Aviv HaShalom’.

If you want to consult train schedules ahead of time, you can see these on their website.

Arriving by Taxi

The cost is about 150 ILS from the airport to the Einstein or the Broshim Dorms. You should only get a taxi at the airport from the official Ben Gurion Airport Taxi Stand which is outside the doors of the airport (there will be signs pointing you to the stand when you walk through the airport). We strongly recommend that you do not accept a taxi ride from anyone inside the airport. These are not regulated taxis and the fare could be much higher.

It is recommended that you have cash (ATM’s are inside the airport) for the taxi, although some will take credit cards (always let the driver know before you get in the taxi that you want to pay with a credit card in case that is a problem). The address to tell the taxi for Einstein is Chaim Levanon Street 63 and for Broshim it is George Wise Street 20.

For students placed in the TAU Apartments or off-campus approved housing, additional detailed arrival instructions including the exact apartment address will be sent to you by email.

TAU Housing Rules & Regulations

All students living in TAU Housing are required to attend a mandatory session during Orientation Day which provides in-depth information on Housing Rules & Regulations. You are required to sign a Housing Contract as well.

Ordering Linen

None of the TAU Housing supplies linens, towels, pillows, or blankets. You must bring your own or buy upon arrival.

You may choose to order some in advance of arrival from an Israeli company that provides these supplies: 1 simhub. Because the size of the single bed in Israel is different than in some other countries, you may prefer to either rent or buy here in Israel as opposed to bringing from home.

The following quantities of linens are usually sufficient: 1-2 blankets, 1-2 sets of sheets, 2 pillowcases, 1 pillow, and 3-4 towels. Of course, these items can all be bought in Israel as well once you arrive. There are also plenty of shops around the dorms where these items can be found—Fox Home in the Ramat Aviv Mall (about one block from Einstein Dorms) is a popular option.

If you pre-order your linens from 1 simhub, there is an option for them to be delivered and waiting for you in your room when you arrive in your housing placement. Since you won’t know your exact dorm or apartment room number until a few weeks prior, you can simply list that you are living in Broshim, Einstein or TAU Apartments, and our staff will direct the 1 simhub delivery to your correct placement (thus, you do not need to know your exact room number before arrival).
