Flights and Arrival
Group Flights from New York City
At the start of each program session, TAU’s New York office arranges a group flight from New York City to Tel Aviv. If you are coming to Tel Aviv from North America, the group flight is a great way to start getting to know your new classmates and travel to Israel stress-free.
Group flights are managed by our affiliated travel agency. Tickets are open-return, non-stop on El Al Airlines.
Group Flight Benefits
A TAU representative from New York accompanies the group.
Group flight participants fly with fellow international students.
All flights are non-stop on El Al, one of the safest airlines in the world.
Students are greeted by TAU International staff upon arrival at Ben Gurion Airport.
Ground transportation directly to campus is provided.
For exact dates, please refer to the academic calendar or the student handbook you received with your acceptance information.
Registering for the Group Flight
Please complete the registration form that you received with your student handbook and welcome packet and return it directly to the travel agency. Due to new TSA regulations, all students will be required to submit a copy of their passports when booking travel to Israel.
Students making their own travel arrangements who are planning to live in student accommodation should try to arrive at the dormitories between 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on the same day as the group flight participants (see the academic calendar for dates).
Students who do not have to take part in Ulpan should arrive one week prior to the start of the semester.
The dormitories are located near TAU’s main campus in Ramat Aviv, just north of central Tel Aviv. Buses 27 and 74 (departing from the central bus station in Tel Aviv) and Bus 25 (departing from the city center) offer direct and frequent service. Reasonably priced taxi services are also available to the TAU campus from both Ben-Gurion Airport and the central bus station.
Upon arrival at the university, please check in at the TAU International Center, located at the Carter Building in the center of campus.
