OVERVIEW
Students applying to TAU International programs must apply online. The Medical Form (found below) and the Recommendation Forms may be found here. Recommenders may use the electronic email system or the paper forms. Please mail the forms to your designated admissions office.
TAU has built many partnerships with major institutions of higher education in the United States and around the world. Information on such affiliations and TAU’s accreditation is listed for reference.
In addition, qualified high school seniors may apply to spend their first semester or year at Tel Aviv University. Please note that for freshman year applicants, additional admission materials are required.
Students who are interested in pursuing full degrees: B.A. in Liberal Arts or B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, please see the chart below for the requirements.
TAU CREDIT TRANSFER
Undergraduate study abroad students who are applying through their home school must ensure transfer of credit for courses taken at TAU International. Students who apply to Tel Aviv University independently are encouraged to request a detailed course pre-approval from their dean or study abroad director.

DETAILS
Grade Point Average - A Cumulative Grade Average:
- The undergraduate semester and yearlong programs are open to qualified students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (equivalent to a B or 80%) however students with lower GPAs are encouraged to apply as the student essay, teacher recommendations and other factors are taken into consideration.
Transcripts:
- For an application to be considered complete it must include official copies of all academic transcripts. A transcript is a record of all the courses you took during your academic studies and the grades you received. It should be issued on official university paper and have an official seal or stamp from the university.
- Study abroad applicants must submit official transcripts from all undergraduate schools attended. If an applicant has attended less than 2 semesters of undergraduate study, their high school transcript will be required as well.
- BA/BSc students must submit all high school transcipts. Upon completion of high school, final transcipts and/or high school diplomas must be submitted.
- Students applying to language only programs, i.e. Hebrew, Arabic or Yiddish are not required to submit transcripts.

Standardized Entrance Exams:
- High school graduates, applying as freshmen or midyear students, must submit their SAT (code 0810) or ACT (code 5517) scores.
- The Sofaer International MBA program requires Completed GMAT or GRE exams except from applicants who hold a Ph. D from an accredited university.
Personal Essay:
- The Personal Essay provides the admissions committee with the opportunity to get to know the applicant’s professional history, life experience, and personal character. We strongly recommend writing and saving your essays in a word document before pasting them into the application.

- Graduate applicants for the MAMES program must also demonstrate genuine interest and/or academic background in their field of study.
- Graduate applicants for the MA in Coping with Stress, Crisis and Trauma must submit a personal essay stating academic and career objectives of approximately 300-500 words presenting the candidate's purpose and interest in pursuing the MA. The student should also include the level of intervention the candidate would like to pursue in the Practice Workshop, the connection between the program and the candidate's academic and/or professional experience. Students with lower GPAs are encouraged to apply as the student essay and teacher recommendations are also taken into consideration.
Resume/Curriculum Vitae
- Graduate applicants are asked to include an up-to-date resume or curriculum vitae so that the program may have it for its records.
Letters of Recommendation:
- Applicants must submit at least two (2) academic recommendations. Letters of Recomendation maybe submitted by letter, email or through our online form.
- The Sofaer International MBA program prefers a letter from supervisors. Please ask your reference to submit his or her letter via email or through our online form.
- Summer Track II, Summer Ulpan / Winter Ulpan and Intensive Arabic applicants are not required to submit recommendations or an application essay.
Demonstrated Command of English:
- All applicants must submit English proficiency test scores that meet the University’s minimum requirement for admission. Exams must be taken before the application deadline. Official TOEFL or IELTS scores must be sent directly to the TAU International office from the testing agency.The minimum required is as follows; Internet based test 89, computer based test 223 and Paper based test is 582 (TAU International ETS code is 7704). Alternatively the IELTS minimum required grade is 7 and above.
- Exception: Students whose primary and secondary education took place in the Australia, Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, New Zealand, or the U.S. are exempt from this requirement. Note that students who were born in one of these countries but were educated elsewhere, will still be required to satisfy the English proficiency requirement in order to complete their application.
ULPAN PREREQUISITE
While all courses on TAU International are taught in English, the Intensive Hebrew Language Course (Ulpan) is required for the study abroad participants.
The course is about 6 weeks long (shorter in the winter) and must be completed prior to the beginning of the semester. The course is worth 6 academic credits for the summer ulpan and 4 academic credits for the winter ulpan.
Only students who demonstrate proficiency in Hebrew by passing a written exam prior to their departure are exempt.
Hebrew language instruction may be continued during the semester as part of the student's course load (not to the exclusion of participation in the Ulpan prior to the semester).
